OPI Breakfast at Tiffany's nail polish 2016 hoilday REVIEW and swatches

The Breakfast at Tiffany's OPI collection was one that I kept my eyes out for since the summer. I am a fan of Breakfast at Tiffany's and Audrey Hepburn so this collection really spoke out to me. Not only are the shades posh, glam, and feminine at the same time, they are also quite appropriate for fall. I only picked up one shade in this collection due to finding this OPI display at a random beauty store. I will likely go back and pick out a few more when I have time! In the meantime, take a look at this shade "Breakfast at Tiffany's."

OPI 'Breakfast at Tiffany's', $9.49
Breakfast at Tiffany's (BaT) is the name of the collection, but also happens to be the shade I picked up. BaT is a champagne pink pearl shade and is definitely a shade I tend to gravitate towards. However, I didn't find anything like this in my collection. I can think of one that might be similar and that is Rescue Beauty Lounge's Pizzicato, but that one leans more purple. I like that this doesn't wash out my hands and brightens my skin instead.

Application/texture: The applicator brush is wide and applies easily. One side of the brush did have a bristle that curved the wrong way and I had to remember not to use that side. I don't know if I just got a defective brush, but other than that it was easy to apply. Though there is a ton of shimmer, I don't notice any gritty feeling on its own.
Coats: I applied 3 light coats to get the coverage seen above. With just two coats, you can see visible nail line.
Staying power: So far after 4 days, it is still going strong. I have four coats of polish plus one coat of Sally Hansen's Miracle Gel Topcoat.
Finish: The finish to this polish alone is more of a matte. It is actually quite funny because it is also very shimmery. It does dry matte and I tried to show that in one of the photos above. However, after a topcoat is added, it becomes the shiny nature you would expect with a topcoat.
Overall: I love Breakfast at Tiffany's and I am so glad OPI did this collection. There are a couple more shades I will try to get, but I think this one is my favorite from just looking at the bottles. The application was easy and the color was unique. I can see this as a great bridal nail polish. It brightens your hands and is still very subtle and neutral.

Givenchy Le Rouge Perfecto Beautifying Lip Balm REVIEW and swatches

As promised, here is another lip balm review. I believe I definitely have enough lip balms to keep one in every purse! For some reason, lip balms like hair ties have a way of disappearing every so often. So despite my collection of them I also never really have too many. Today's review is on yet another lip balm. This one is by Givenchy and is in their Le Rouge collection. Givenchy have a few lipsticks that look very much like the Perfecto lip balm in that it has a leather casing and sleek look. The balm has a pink leather case and is slimmer than the lipsticks. I quite like the packaging like I did with the lipsticks and I also really like the moisture it provides. Continue reading to see close-ups of this product.

Givenchy Le Rouge Perfecto Beautifying Lip Balm, 0.07oz, sephora, $36

Givenchy's Le Rouge perfecto lip balm offers no tint, but it does moisturize your lips. It doesn't lather on top of your lips, but gives a thin layer of comfort. It does very well to let your own lip color shine through. The case is wrapped with a pink leather and sleek silver metal. It looks very sophisticated and posh. I really like having it in my purse as I feel like it elevates my look when I use it.

Application/texture: It applies with no tugging and the texture is a very thin silk layer on the lips.
Scent: It does have a slight floral scent, but dissipates quickly. However, I can see how someone might find it annoying at first.
Staying power: I do feel this moisturize my lips, however, I also know of better lip balms with longer staying power. I find myself needing to reapply every 3 hours depending on how hydrated I am.
Overall: For $36, this lip balm is definitely pricey. However, it is in a leather casing and looks super cute. It also is moisturizing and feels sturdy to be tossed around in your purse. I think if you wanted something with color, this isn't for you. However, if you are a lip balm fanatic and love a luxurious product, I would definitely check this out.
