Revlon Chalkboard Nail Polish sticks REVIEW and swatches

I've been playing with the Revlon Chalkboard nail polishes on and off for the last couple weeks because they are just so fun. They remind me of being in school and drawing all kinds of things on the chalkboard. There was something about being in school and being able to write on the chalkboard. Anyway, I took advantage of this product to do a couple of neat designs. See below for my review and some swatches.

Revlon's Chalkboard nail polishes come with two ends. One side is a black matte polish that dries to what a clean chalkboard would look like. The other side has a thinner brush and contains pastel colors that come in shades that chalk does. I picked up two shades: a turquoise and a pink.

Outfit of the Day: October 28th 2013- Pink in the News

Hi Everyone,
This outfit was from a couple days ago and I really like it. The colors were soft and easy on the eyes and contrasted the gloomy weather that has been going on around here. It was also very cozy and warm!

Top: American Eagle polka dot cream pink sweater
Bottom: Forever21 pink nude skinny trousers
Shoes: Target striped red and white flats
Bag: Calvin Klein navy leather tote
Scarf: Newspaper print UK tissue scarf from Oxford Street in London
*funny thing about this scarf is that none of the writing on it makes any sense. They are either not words or complete sentences. But I like the idea of it so much that I did not care what it said.

Hope everyone is having a great week!

Outfit of the Day: October 25th 2013- Pastels in the Fall

I know Fall has finally come around and the weather got more chilly, but I just couldn't help but dress in some pastel colors. This sweater that I have in pastel pink is the warmest and comfiest sweater ever. I really like that it is 3/4 sleeve so that I can still move around and not have it get in the way. It has a slight slouchy feel to it so it just makes it that much more relaxing. Everything else just went with the sweater. Hope you guys have a wonderful weekend!

Top: Forever21 pink 3/4 sleeve sweater (last year)
Bottom: Target Mossimo turquoise trousers
Shoes: Unlisted brown oxfords with sequins
Bag: Calvin Klein navy blue tote
Necklace: homemade shell necklace with pink pearl

L'Oreal Colour Riche balm Pop Limited edition shades in Lilac Sweetness, Dragon Fruit, Ballet Show, and Vineyard Peach REVIEW and swatches

On my most recent visit to Target, I found a display near the L'Oreal section. I have seen a lot of the items before: the accent top coat nail polishes as well as the Colour Riche balms. However, in the midst of the Colour Riche balms, I noticed that there were 4 new and limited edition shades that I have not laid eyes on or heard of before. I tried looking up swatches and couldn't find any. That was when I picked up all 4 to play with and share with you. These have a special "Pop" label on them so they seem to be slightly different than the originals. See below for swatches!

Next to the permanent Colour Riche balms are the limited edition shades
left to right: ballet show (171), dragon fruit (172), lilac sweetness (174), and vineyard peach (176)

Since there were no swatches online, I couldn't tell which one I wanted. There are the four limited edition shades for funnnnn.

L'Oreal Voluminous Butterfly Mascara REVIEW and comparison with Maybelline Mega Plush, Maybelline Rocket, and Lancome Hypnose

Browsing through my local CVS, I came across a new mascara from L'Oreal, the Voluminous Butterfly mascara. The claim for this mascara is that it will stretch your lashes to corners with their special wing tip brush. I don't know about you, but I can always use a little help to make my lashes look longer and eyes bigger. Doesn't that help everyone? I haven't come across anyone that says they don't want their eyes to look bigger and their lashes fuller/longer. Anyway, keep reading to see how this mascara worked for me.
L'Oreal Voluminous Butterfly mascara, $8

The Butterfly mascara has a texture that leans more wet than dry, but does coat my lashes evenly and volumizes. It also lengthens slightly and keeps them curled.

Outfit of the Day- October 2nd 2013: Bows and Greens

Hello! Happy Tuesday. Today I have an outfit to share with you that I think is quite and comfy. I love that type of style. It is perfect for work, hanging out, or going shopping!

I try to name each OOTD post because it is so easy to lose track after a while. Each time I name a OOTD post, I try to make some sense of it. Today's post is called "Bows and Greens" because well, I am wearing bows and the color green. The green part is easy to see because my skinny trousers are just that. The bows are in three different areas: my top (the bow blends in with the rest of the top), my flats (at the toe part), and my hair clip.

Now that I got the technical part of this post down, let's move on to the more fun part- the outfit!

L'Oreal La Laque and Le Matte Color Riche lip color in Never Lacque-ing and No Matte-r What REVIEW and swatches

I finally decided to give the new L'oreal Lip color a try after seeing the exciting color pigment and range of shades it had. It comes in two finishes- matte and shine. I have one of each to show you so let's get right to it.

L'Oreal La Laque and Le Matte, $8, Walgreens

The pink shade above is a shine finish (La Laque) and the brown shade is a matte finish (Le Matte).

Both had the pen, twist up packaging. It is quite sturdy and the twist up does not require sharpening. Though I can say after a few uses, the pointed tip will start to get dull.
