Milani Baked Blushes in matte shades: Delizioso Pink and Bella Rosa REVIEW and swatches

This is a much awaited review. I have had these blushes for over 2 weeks and haven't written a blog post about it yet. That is highly unlike me. In fact, the reason why I held out for so long is probably because they are permanent! I love it when good things are permanent because you don't have to rush to get it without knowing the quality or whether you like it. With these two blushes, I have had a lot of time to review and play with it.
As you might know, Milani is quite famous for their baked blushes. Not only are the colors stunning, but the pigmentation is wonderful, the finish is unique, and the price is very reasonable. No wonder they became quickly one of the most liked blushes in the drugstore! Though I admit they are nice, the shine-a-phobe in me still feels that the original baked blushes are rather shimmery. I know they don't look glittery on my skintone and definitely do not make me look shiny. They give off this glow that looks very nice on my cheeks. However, some days I really just prefer a plain old matte shade. These two shades I am about to show you are just that. Matte, easy to apply, and same good pigment.

Essie Hide and Go Chic Spring 2014 collection: Romper Room and Fashion Playground nail polish swatches and REVIEW

I love Essie nail polishes and even more so in the spring. They always come out with the cutest shades. I actually purchased these a few weeks back, but for some reason haven't written a blog about them. I even took the pictures a while back when my fingers were super dried from the weather (sorry!). Anyway, the two colors I purchased are Romper Room and Fashion Playground. Keep reading for my take on it and some swatches!

Essie Hide and Go Chic Spring 2014
Romper room (left) and Fashion playground (right), $8

Romper Room is an opaque pink with a white undershade. Very similar to Fiji, which is permanent.
Fashion Playground is a darker green mint shade with a tiny bit of shimmer.

Milani Coming up Roses Spring 2014 LE blush: Lady Rouge, Love Potion, Tea Rose, Coral Cove and comparison to 2013 REVIEW and swatches

I have seen the Milani Coming up Roses for Spring 2014 floating around the blogosphere lately and have wanted to get my hands on them. Last year, I found the Coming up Roses blushes at my local Walgreens, which I happily purchased 3 out of the 4. This year, I employed the same methods, but my efforts were fruitless. I gave in and finally purchased the four blushes online. Had I purchased it in stores, I probably would have only purchased two of the four. Since Milani's website charges for shipping unless you spend a certain amount...that amount happened to be just the 4 blushes total...I opted to purchase all of them. I believe the four blushes with free shipping came up to about $30 something USD. Now that is not to say they were the cheapest and best deal I have ever seen for blushes, but these are that good. Milani is quite well known for their baked blushes and after trying the Coming Up Roses from last year, I knew these had to be good. So I went ahead and purchased them. Now I get to share them with you. Honestly...that is the main reason why I purchased them...for you all. Ah, my sad attempts to justify my beauty purchases.

Moving on to the review! The four new blushes I got this year are $7.99 each (ranges in stores) and have 0.60 oz of product. This is the exact same amount in the blushes last year. I believe the price was also the same a year ago. To see my review for the blushes from last year, click here.

Milani Spring 2014 LE Coming up Roses blush

A closer look at the blush pattern. Similar to last year, the top of the blush has an imprinted rose design. I have used the blush from last year quite a bit and it hasn't damaged this design. I know a lot of people are afraid to use it in case that does happen!

Top, left to right: Lady Rouge, Love Potion
Bottom, left to right: Tea Rose, Coral Cove
Lady Rouge is a mauvey brown matte shade. It is dark enough on me to be a contouring product. This was the one out of the four that was a bit hard to swatch. The product just doesn't want to rub off.
Love potion is much brighter in person than in the photograph above. It is a red magenta matte shade.
Tea Rose looks like a bright salsa rose on my hand. It is also a matte.
Coral Cove is by far the brightest in the pan. On my hand it is equally bright as a salmon orange shade of matte.

Wet n Wild Walking the Red Carpet Spring LE eyeshadow palette REVIEW and swatches

I actually came across the display for this collection about two weeks ago and had picked up the "Walking the Red Carpet" eyeshadow palette. I haven't gotten around to using it after swatching so I haven't written a review for it. After using it all this week, I decide to write a review. I still see this display at my local Walgreens so if you are interested go see if you have it near yours. This is limited edition so I wouldn't wait too long.

Wet n Wild comes out with limited edition 8-pan shadow palettes nearly every season and this one was very similar to the spring one from last year. I believe it is called Spring Awakening.
Anyway, I didn't get a chance to find those, but I was able to get my hands on these. See below for swatches!

Wet n Wild Walking the Red Carpet Palette, $5.99

There is a mix of shimmer and matte shades in this 8-pan palette.
Most of the darker shades (bottom 4) are shimmery and the top 4 are matte.

Sonia Kashuk Eye on Neutral Matte Shimmer LE palette REVIEW and swatches

When I saw a bunch of people speaking about a sale at Target on the Sonia Kashuk holiday makeup, I was instantly drawn in. I love holiday packaging because they always look so pretty, and a sale is never missed. I have never tried either of the matte or shimmer eye shadow palettes from Sonia Kashuk, but have heard good things about it. When I found out that there was a palette that had both of the finishes and it was on sale, I knew I had to get it. Hopefully these will still be available if you are interested. Take a quick look and head to your nearest Target if you are interested. They are limited edition (holiday 2013)!

Sonia Kashuk Eye on Neutral Matte/Shimmer LE Palette, $14.98 on sale

From what I recall at the stores, the Matte or Neutral palettes contain shades that are larger than these. Though these have twice the number of colors, they are much smaller. Technically you are not getting more product, rather more selection. This does come with a mirror, which is great for traveling.

When closed, the palette has Sonia Kashuk written on top and come in a sleek white plastic container.

Lancome Lip Lover lip perfector in Rose Ballet 313, Casse-Noisette 314, Framboise Etoile 355 REVIEW and swatches

Lancome came out with new lip products recently and I purchased two of the many shades they offer to share with you today. Lip Lovers are their newest lip product that provides a dewy color, 8 hour moisture, and shine. I really like these new lippies because they do everything I would want them to! If you like moisture from lip balms, shine from lipglosses, and pigment from lipsticks, then this item is for you! See below for further review and swatches!

Lancome Lip Lover in Rose Ballet 313 and Casse-Noisette 314, $23
Rose Ballet is a fun light pink with hints of shimmer. On the lips it gives only a shine rather than a glittery look.
Casse-Noisette is a nude mauve cream. It has no shimmer or glitter.

Lancome lip lovers have a pop up cap button. Though they do pop up easily, you still need to pull it apart with some force. In other words, if you are afraid this will pop up in your purse, there is still a force required to pull the wand out of the tube. Hopefully you will catch that before it gets all in your purse. Chances are that won't happen, but I still prefer the twist ups.
The packaging is very sleek and sturdy. I also like how it doesn't leave finger prints behind easily.

L'Oreal Collection Privee nail polishes in Doutzen's nude and Frieda's nude REVIEW and swatches

I love natural and subtle nail polishes and the L'Oreal Collection Privee has all of the nude shades I like. I had to only pick two, otherwise I will overwhelm my nail polish container...not that it isn't extremely over filled already. Anyway, I happen to pick Doutzen's nude and Frieda's nude. See below for more information.

L'Oreal's Doutzen's nude and Frieda's nude, $5.99

Doutzen's nude is a very brown grey nude with a very tiny hint of pink. It is a cream finish.
Frieda's nude is a beige champagne polish with a sheen.

Lord & Berry Runway Long Lasting Shining Lipstick in Blush #3458 REVIEW and swatches

Lord & Berry has been a makeup brand that is available at Asos, Urban Outfitters, and a lot of small beauty salon and shops. The other day I found a product stand at CVS full of Lord & Berry Runway Long Lasting Shining Lipsticks. Lord & Berry has other makeup products, but only the lipstick was available in the stand. The stand was awesome in that every color had a display lipstick for you to swatch onto your hand. I really like that no one has to open a product to "try" it in stores. Because of the display lipstick option, I swatched 4 of the many shades to show you what they look like. These are fairly matte, but they do not feel drying.
