Revlon Colorstay Whipped creme foundation REVIEW and Swatch

When it comes to foundation, I prefer mineral or powder rather than liquid. I just don't like that heavy feeling on my skin. On top of that, my skin is combination normal-oily so I would get quite shiny near my tzone by the time half the day has gone by. Seeing that Revlon has come out with a 24 hour, whipped creme foundation, I decided that this might be worth a shot. I waited for a sale and I got it! RiteAid is having a 40% off all Revlon cosmetics and tools this week (7/15- 7/21) so take advantage of it! I also have other Revlon products swatched and reviewed so check them out to help select your Revlon goodies: Kissable Balm Stains and Super Lustrous Lipgloss

On with the review! I got the whipped creme foundation in #250 Medium Beige. I am a NC 30-35 for reference.
Revlon Colorstay Whipped creme foundation, 23.7ml/0.8 fl oz, $14

Once you screw off the top plastic black lid, you come to a white plastic cover. Upon lifting the white cover, you see the liquid whipped cream in a glass container. The glass container is fairly heavy.

I swatched a small amount of it on the back of my hand. For some reason, my hand is slightly darker than my face. Anyway, once I blend it out, the white-ish spot disappears (I haven't completely blended it out in the top picture so you can still see a hint of white).

 After application:
As you can see, my freckles aren't covered by this foundation, but a lot of redness and slight discolorations have been removed. My face looks pretty even for the most part. I haven't put any concealer on at this point and it doesn't seem like I would need to.

 After 10 hours of wear:
The foundation on my skin is still going strong. It hasn't slid or moved around even after 10 hours of wear. I did notice more shine coming through, but this is after no touchups or clean up for the whole day. I must say, it has stayed on quite well! If you look very closely, you could see some of my pores. It wasn't a huge problem for me, but I know other people have more prominent pores showing after application. After browsing for a better way to apply this product, I saw on Nouveau Cheap's blog that you can apply the foundation with a duo fiber brush to avoid that problem. I haven't tried it personally, but check out her blog if you have that problem.

Application: Very easy. It was more watery than you would have expected of a whipped cream, but it blends very easily into your skin. The texture is light and soft and doesn't feel intrusive on the skin. It feels like I am not wearing foundation at all, yet it covers better than most tinted moisturizers.
Scent: When I applied the foundation, I did not smell anything at all. But to report the scent to you, I opened the container to smell the product directly and I can tell you then I can smell a very faint scent of plastic. I wouldn't have noticed until I purposely smelled it to review.
Coverage: Medium. Covered most of my blemishes and discolorations with just one application of product.
Staying power: Very good. As you can see, the product stayed on my face nicely even after 10 hours of wear. No touchups, no cleanups!

Overall: I would definitely recommend this product if you are looking for a lightweight foundation that gives medium coverage. It was able to cover my blemishes and discolorations, but my freckles were still visible. For about $14, it could be kind of expensive for the amount of product you get. Take advantage of the 40% off sale for Revlon at RiteAid this week!

  1. I have very oily skin, which is also acne prone. Have you found this product to break you out? Thanks.

    1. I have oily skin in my t-zone and I have found this foundation to be quite breathable. In terms of acne, I don't notice any breakouts when I use this product, although I do get occasion breakouts every now even if I don't use this foundation.
Hope this helps. Let me know how it works with your skin!

  2. I was wondering if it was more pink tone or yellow toned?
