revlon just bitten kissable balm stain review

A new display sprouted up from my local CVS and in it was the new Revlon Just bitten kissable balm stains. I purchased two of the many shades available.

As you can see, there are new mousse foundations, eyeshadow pens, and mascara on this stand as well. I only purchased the balm stains because they look so cute!

I purchased Honey (001) and Charm (035). 2.7g, $9.99

They look like jumbo pencils; reminds me very much of the Clinique packaging. No sharpening is required since this product has a twist up mechanism. Simply twist up when you need more product. Easy to use, glides well, and not sticky! They have a peppermint scent and the scent stays on your lips for a few moments after application. I wouldn't say this could replace my lip balm, but it definitely feels soft on my lips and does not dry my lips out.

Chanel Beige Nail color #565

For my birthday, I received the Chanel Le Vernis color in beige #565 from my mommy. I will share my experience with you on this new shade from Chanel. Chanel had this exclusive shade released at the end of May 2012 and is available only on chanel.com

Chanel Le Vernis Nail color in Beige #565, .4 fl. oz, $26

This shade is a light nude color. It appears to lean more on the pale peach side of nude and is a very versatile color. I love nude nails and this color is no exception. I am more used to pink-toned nudes, but this is an interesting and clean shade.

Maybelline's mega plush mascara review

I recently purchased the Maybelline's Mega Plush mascara in very black (part of their volum' express line) and I love it. It is the world's first gel-mousse mascara! The gel formula allows defined and volumized curls while allowing it to be super soft to the touch. I was able to touch my lashes with mascara on and could hardly notice I was wearing any.  It comes in this turquoise tube (much like the Falsies container, but different color). There are a few differences compared to the falsies and I will outline that below.

This is the cutest, softest, cleanest mascara I have used so far! Not only is it in one of my favorite colors, but it works like a charm on my short, straight, and thin lashes. It lengthen slightly my lashes, kept them curled, and defined each lash very well. It hardly clumped for me and I was able to reapply it after the first coat if I do it quickly. Though it didn't clump, I still noticed my lashes being fuller.

Milani nail polish review: A Rose Mylady

I have been wearing Milani's A Rose Mylady nail polish for a week now and I really enjoy the color it brings to my hands. In the bottle, it looks like a dusty shimmering rose color. On the hands, it looks like a dusty glass pink mauve.
From far away, the shimmer disappears and I actually get a tanned look to my hands. The polish can even be a pink nude for my nails.

Maybelline Color Sensational - Porcelain collection

Last week, I saw a Maybelline stand that says Limited Edition at Walgreens. This Maybelline collection consists of porcelain tones and looks so dainty! Even the texture of the lipstick caps feel like precious porcelain and has the color of lavender frost.

Left: nude nuances, right: afternoon tea

I purchased two shades out of the five that were there. The shades I purchased were Nude Nuances and Afternoon Tea. I love the name of Afternoon Tea!
Nude nuance is a light baby pink with a sheen glow.
Afternoon tea is a mauvy pink also with a sheen.

Both applied very nicely and is fairly pigmented. They have the usual lipstick scent but that doesn't bother me too much since it leaves quite quickly. I was so focused on the color upon application that I didn't notice the scent. It was not until after I smelled it to report the scent did I find it smelled like traditional lipstick.
Anyway, I love the look it gives my lips! I have somewhat pigmented lips and Afternoon Tea just gives it that "My lips but better" look plus a side of dewy-ness! Nude nuance gave me a soft baby lips look. I really love them both :)

Top: Afternoon tea, Bottom: Nude nuances

Unfortunately, the display says these are limited edition. If you like natural, healthy looking lips I would go and grab this at Walgreens ASAP. Plus, Walgreens has a BOGO 50% off on all Maybelline this week. Good luck.

Philosophy goodies at Big Lots- SALE!

There's a sale! at Big Lots!

I don't shop at Big Lots a lot, but after hearing about a sale on Philosophy items I just had to check it out. I have never tried Philosophy's cosmetic items, but I did like their bath items. They are probably most known for their delicious scents in body washes and shampoos.
Anyway, this post is to show you what I got and some swatches of what I really liked. I noticed there weren't too many reviews or swatches online so hopefully this will help you decide what you want to get at your local Big Lots. Did I mention, each of these items are only $3!!

NOTD: CosBar at Target's amber bronze

I just came back from Target with a few goodies, one of which is the new CosBar's nail polish. This stunning amber metallic polish is easy to apply, dries fast, and looks so glam!
A little background on CosBar: CosBar is one of the many collaborations Target has in their "The Shops" promotion this May 2012. This is what Target has on their website about CosBar- "Where Aspen flirts with fake lashes and real beauty. New Yorker turned ski bum, Lily Garfield, worked her way up from behind the beauty counter to become Aspen's queen of cosmetics. Since it first opened in 1976, Cos Bar has remained a cutting-edge beauty palace for the lovely ladies of Aspen."

This is two coats of nail polish with no top or base coat. The formula is so smooth and easy to work with. The first coat is nearly opaque with no streaks and I topped it with a second coat for more intensity. There are lots of metallic shimmer, but it does not feel gritty. Did I mention it took less than a minute to dry? Wow.
