Wet n Wild Fergie nail polish swatches, REVIEW, and comparison to Whimsical

I spotted the Wet n Wild Fergie nail polishes at Walgreens the other day and picked up three to try. The color range wasn't too special and I didn't think any stood out as 'must haves,' but I am sure glad I picked three very different polishes to try.
See below for swatches, comparisons, and review!

Wet n Wild Fergie nail polishes, 0.42 fl oz/12.5mL, $3.49

I found the display at the end of one of the aisles. You really have to go hunt for them. I did not see these at every Walgreens near me, but I think they will be popping up soon in most Walgreens.

The three nail polishes that I chose to purchase were:
Mermaid curves- a ocean blue jelly with different size glitters
Flossy flossy- a clear polish with mainly rose gold glitter and a mix of other tiny glitters
Grammy gold- a pigmented gold shimmer polish

I personally loved Mermaid curves. The color is so cute! The blue was just perfect in glitter and jelly. I also layered it with other nail polishes and it looks great. Each combination looks so unique!
I did the same for Flossy flossy. I have been looking for a rose gold glitter polish and I think I found it. Because it isn't soley big glitters, it makes it less sparse on your nail. Many looks can also be created!

Closer look at the brush!

Swatches and Comparison:

left to right: Mermaid curves, Grammy gold, Flossy flossy, Sinful Colors Island coral, all one coat

Thumb: Grammy gold over white nail polish
Index: 2 coats of Mermaid curves
Middle: 2 coats of Grammy gold
Ring: 1 coat of Flossy flossy
Pinky: 1 coat of Flossy flossy over Sinful color Island coral

More looks:
Ring finger: Flossy flossy over Finger Paint's Well-cultured Pearl

Trying to show you how pretty the ocean blue jelly is!

The Mermaid curve over the Flossy flossy white nail polish reminded me a lot of the Revlon Whimsical, which I think was limited edition. Whimsical was sought after a lot because it was a very close dupe to Deborah Lippmann's Glitter In the Air. I don't have Glitter In the Air, so I will try to swatch that next to Whimsical.

Revlon's Whimsical

Whimsical over white polish (middle finger)

Unfortunately, The WnW concoction of polishes isn't as creamy and light as Whimsical in color. If you do really like the Glitter in the Air or Whimsical effect, you would really have to hunt those down. If you don't mind a more bold version of those, then you can simply follow what I did for the polish on my thumb!

Application: All three were easy to apply as other Wet n Wild megalast nail polishes. In fact, because the brush size is smaller, I noticed it was easier to apply to my smaller nails. None of them were streaky or too thick.
Dry time: Dry time was comparable to megalast nail polishes. I didn't have to wait long to apply the next coat of glitters!
Staying power: I was able to wear these for at least 3-4 days without chipping. I did have a top coat on.

Overall: I really enjoy all three colors and application. The brush was easy to use and the colors dried fast. I especially love the Mermaid curve's jelly blue! It could provide so many looks depending on which nail polish you layer it with! For $3.49, I would definitely give these a try.

  1. Thanks for this comprehensive post, Em! It's fantastic. :) I definitely referred to it when preparing my own post about these polishes, and I've linked to you in it as well.

I really love the glitters in Mermaid Curves, I own a color that's very close to it from NOPI. And I like the silvery gold color of Grammy Gold, it makes it more flattering and wearable than most gold polishes. (For me, at least!)

    1. Glad I can help! I like the polishes- too bad so many of them are repackaged and at a higher price!
I am flattered to be included in your blog. I hope this post can help your viewers :)

  2. I bought the hot pink Fergalious color and the teal color Miami Spirit and. I hated them both. They both chipped the same day I bought them and I used a top coat.

    1. Hey Chrissy. Thanks for sharing. Sorry to hear that they didn't work for you. I haven't tried those colors so I can't comment on how they work for me. Have you tried other polishes in the Wet n Wild line? Some formulas tend to work better than others, at least for me.

    2. I bought the Glowstick and Hollywood Walk of Fame for my first purchases of Fergie's Wet & Wild polishes. I applied 2 coats of Glowstick, which is a neon green shade, and then 2 coats of HWOF, and 2 topcoats. This nail polish lasts and lasts! I wore it for 2 weeks and 4 days without any clipping! I only took it off as I purchased more shades; Miami Spirit and Take the Stage. The Hollywood Walk of Fame is a clear polish with different colored metallic little stars. My only complaint is that the polish was very hard to remove! The stars were the hardest part to remove. Today I am wearing the teal Miami Spirit, 2 coats, and 1 coat of the HWOF; and 2 topcoats of Sally Hansen Strengthening Top Coat. I'll let you know how this shade holds up! Personally, this new brand is my favorite at the moment. I also purchased Revlon Scented polishes in Grape Icy and Ocean Breeze, a deeper and shinier teal color than W & W Miami Spirit. These Revlon polishes were on sale for $1.99 at Walgreen's. Also purchased Sinful Colors in Dream On, a fushia colored polish and Let's Talk a shiny deep purple color. I have really been getting into purchasing and trying new nail polishes lately. I go from wearing nail polish regularly to just applying a clear all-in-one basecoat/topcoat.

The Fergie Wet & Wild nail polishes can be found at most Walgreen's for $3.49 each.

    1. I hope you find them soon! I tried to look for them at my local walgreens and the shelves were nearly empty. That could only mean they will restock soon, right? Also, I saw a lot of very similar colors in Wet n Wild's Spoiled line. Maybe there is a gold one similar to Grammy Gold there! Good luck :)

    1. thanks :) I love both Mermaid Curves and Whimsical! I tried to recreate Whimsical using MC and a milky color because I know Whimsical isn't readily available. I hope you find MC soon!
